But maybe just a 1 round random 1-2 week long event every now and then might be more doable and encourage some activity and participation at the org, and help give a way for some editors to interact with each other that they might not otherwise have a chance to get. Maybe after OrgEditor is finished this year though, I wanna try and see if I can coordinate something fun like this. Get a roster of solid editors and a sign up sheet for aspiring editors and their editor friends to work with those editors, learning things quick on the go about encoding, timing, scene selection, and being able just to chat with some other editors. It'll be like those workplace team building exercises except not as dumb (well, hopefully not as dumb).
I really would like to do this, but Yue brought up some good points. Maybe you could factor in drop-outs when making the teams. Like, make sure there are extras in case of this.
I like your idea though, Shin, on staggering it to be an occasional thing, rather than a sustained effort. I think that could totally work, especially if teams are allowed back-up editors in case one of the dates comes up and an editor doesn't have time or what have you.
