I can't decide whether I want to stay in Cornwall and finish my Game Development course, or return to Kingston and take a more generic Software Engineering course... I don't really want to do game development anymore, except as a hobby, I'd really like to do some other kind of software development, I've found I'm better at that. I've already done a year of the course, however, and I've made some friends and really like the teachers... On the other hand, with less focus on games in another course and three years vs two, I'll have a better understanding of more generic development, and it'll look better for a regular job on a resume than game development will, despite the fact that we're covering basically the same as the other course, just with a focus on games and less java, and without the work placement at the end. It'd be cheaper for me to live in Kingston for the generic software course, as I can live with my parents, but I feel like I wouldn't have the same independance, despite what my parents say... I want to see if I can pay rent in order to not have to do silly chores to live with them. I'd also get to see my girlfriend more regularily... I really don't know what to do. I've started this course, but the other is more in-depth, and cheaper for living, though I'd be leaving some good friends behind and I'm sure there wouldn't be close to as many people interested in gaming in the other course. No more sitting around between classes playing monster hunter with seven other people... Argh, sorry for the wall of text, I just had to type it out and get these things straight in my mind... It's a tough decision and will undoubtably affect the rest of my life, I don't know what the fuck to do. :<
EDIT: Also, I'd probably have constant vehicle access in Kingston, and more spending money since I'd eat meals with my parents and wouldn't have to pay $350/mo for rent... Everything says I should go home next year, but I don't want to drop this course after getting halfway through, and I like the people and independance...
