Lots of videos are underrated :(

But it's like it's the name what's doing the job.

Anyways:

You didn't expect Ru.comix 2 Shin? When I first proposed it as Best MEP I was pretty sure that it needed more appreciation. I remembered commenting one of the French guys that this time the Best MEP was going to be a kind of versus between EM and Ru.comix, Depending of the result we'll know that

It's going to be funny that someone that has been editing for the last 4 years wins the Rookie of the Year, ironic :awesome:

I was also surprised not to see Kitty & Galia not in the finals for Editor of the year, they've been pretty busy and have put out a lot of quality stuff.

They were my top choice, little bummed out because they had a great year. Not quite sure who to pick now.

I know right? I saw them as finalists in pretty much all the contests I entered and they seemed to consistently win/place well so I thought they would be fairly well known. At least they have 3 solid entries in the finals.

I only saw RU Comix in its entirety when it was played during the livestream events. I'm usually not a fan of those comedy collection stuff like AMV Hell or AMV Salad type stuff, but they do have their moments, and was really expecting it to be more like that. After watching it though, I have to say that after the opening sections, it ended up being quite hilarious and had a very consistent high level of editing in it.

Overall, I say it was a pretty expected VCA results.

Lip Bomb, Eidolon, Empty Mosaic and Jus Talionis were well deserved wins without much contest.

I'm a little iffy on Pencilhead for Video of the year myself, but it's not like it didn't deserve it. On the contrary, it DEFINITELY deserved it. I just personally (as a viewer) liked ATYCLB a little better.

Actually, I'm shocked that Fate Matrix overtook Pencilhead in Best Effects. Not that Fate Matrix was bad (again, it's totally deserving), it's just that I assumed it would have been a quick win in that category.

Trailer/Commercial was a great win for Kosmit. Seriously, the the level of detail and execution of JPF was great. Although I had a lot of videos in this category I was personally rooting for.

So glad to see Enchanted take another win! I seriously LOVE that video to pieces.

godix for most helpful! YAY! :3 Even though I was competing in this category, I really don't think anyone else deserved it more this year than him. A perfect tribute for him. :)

Overall, just congratulations to everyone that competed! Even making it to the semifinals is a great award in and of itself. Everyone came a long way this year, and I think 2011 was probably one of the better years for AMVs around here since I joined. So let's keep the trend going!

Have a great 2012 editing season everyone!

That's because Pencilhead wasn't in the finals for Best Effects. :uhoh:
