Fonts

Post by Shin-AMV » Thu Oct 13, 2011 2:47 pm

Not sure if this should have been put in general or here, but its less a discussion and more a request for recommendations for specific types of fonts. I don't use text much in my videos so its sort of out of my comfort zone. Anyways what are good fonts for techno/computer type stuff. As in the font is going to be showing up in HUDs and computer monitors as displaying all sorts of different information and having commands being input into it. I want less of a DOS feel though and more of a sci fi advanced tech feel to it. Anyone have good suggestions?

These would be my suggestions, depending on how artsy you want to be.
"sans" and "sans-serif" mainly lacks the dangly nubs of other fonts and are considered more of a computer friendly font. Impact is used in a lot of video game huds and most, if not all image-macro memes

This place also has some free fonts (I have a strange obsession with fonts, I know)

Sans serif fonts are indeed the way to go. One I'd think that could work well is CartoGothic Std.

Remember though, no matter what font you choose somebody will complain about it. So, go with what you like the most.

The only safe bets for fonts are Comic Sans and Papyrus :ying:

this. I'm not really sure which kind of feel you're going for, but I'm pretty sure you'll find it by browsing a few of those pages. The Ledlight one looks pretty cool for a more interesting kind of feel to it. Reminds me of some old school computer stuff.
