This is the first contest I'm entering, I wasn't sure if the "standard" resolution you posted was the max or the minimum, so I uploaded two files to the ftp(the original 720p and a downscaled 480p). I hope its not an issue. o_o

If I had to say, I'd say 720x480 is the minimum.

Every entry is going onto a DVD for playback, which means that it will be 720x480 in the end. However, if I must change the resolution of entries I'd much rather downscale than upscale. I prefer 720x480 because it means less work on my end :amv:

I've already got your entry in the compilation, so no worries.

I got on top of this right away this year. Out of ~64 AMVs that were submitted from many corners of the world, 24 have made the cut as finalists. We had pretty strong representation from Russia and Italy this year, and I really enjoy being able to present great AMVs from all corners of the world.

So, our finalists are...

In Action:
  • Galia & Kitty - YEAH! YEAH!
  • BxP101 - Have You Had Enough
  • RiderG - Fullmetal's Back
  • OkamiRvS - Only Violence
  • [key]Scarlet - Revenge
  • [key]Scarlet - Time Code
In Drama:
  • Galia & Kitty - Her Loss
  • SatoshiSakura - Cold Nights
  • The Lonely Hero - Far Off Memory; Scattered Dream
  • OkamiRvS - Soul Removal
  • [key]Scarlet - .DiE
In Comedy:
  • moonbunnychan - Commander In Heat
  • GloryQuestor - Ai Hearts Mentos
  • Moonie - Anime Slap Empire
  • advent87 - Frankin Von Stein
In Romance:
  • Sakoda15 - Broken Bonds
  • EimiJ7 - Variations on Love
  • StarTrinity009 - Bunny Love
  • SPK - Don't Forget Me...
In Dance/Upbeat/Fun/Over The Top (also known as DUFOTT, cuz it's shorter and more fun to say):
  • Galia & Kitty - SuperS
  • ReggieSmalls - One Bullit
  • SammySamaProductions - Ouran Pop
  • OkamiRvS - Futuristic Lover
  • Moonie - Bubble Pop Unlimited! -Big Chocolate Edition V2-
Congratulations to all the finalists! It's looking like every category is gonna be tough to judge. It was tough enough to determine which videos moved on to be finalists. Even some good entries couldn't make it in this year. I think some videos will be so close that my judges and I might have to adjust the granularity of our voting scheme from quarters of points to tenths of points.

What's tough for us is good for you. There will be entertaining videos in the general contest screening on Sunday that you won't see in the finalists screening on Friday. You guys should definitely consider checking out the general screening if you're on the fence. See you at the con!
