I guess that comedy isn't as important to the Russians as it is the Americans

It is, of course. And it was first AKROSS Con without Comedy category, actually. ::(

But it's problematic to have comedy category without, you know, comedies in the finals. We got only Kosmit's video as solid comedy this year, and maybe could bring Uk@R along (though you need to be Russian to understand all of its hidden jokes), but that's not enough for the fair competition.

I don't say that as a comment to the staff, it's also about the people entering videos. The lack of interest in entering comedy videos by all of the contestants is the main thing that speaks about it's importance to the audience. I'm sure there are talented Russians that make comedy, but the overall lack of entries for that category shows that it's not a very important category. Anyways, not really important.

Agreed with l33tmeatwad, I'm a bit disappointed for haven't seen decent comedy videos this year (even if it isn't my favourite genre to watch).. Well, it's not the fault of the staff of course, but it's sad anyway.
However, great contest as usual. Even if the videos of this year didn't amaze me - except two or three - the organisation it's always outstanding for a contest with hundreds of entries. I enjoyed it, hope to be a part next year.
