Google translator is not the one :(

Drew: Trailer did it justice to the audio. Like I told you a few days ago, the video was going to be different from Does this look infected? And I was right. But to be honest, I didn't expect a trailer from you. Still, seems you've done fine during the premier as my mates seems to like it

Well, I don't expect miracles out of it, but I can get a rough idea most of the time.

Yeah, I suppose an English trailer for a Russian contest may not have been the most strategic of manuevers. To be honest, the past few days I've been a bit concerned about possible language issues (which didn't come to mind until I watched GITRON: System). Doesn't seem to be too much of an issue so far.

Admittedly, I didn't make the video specifically for AKROSS; but I wasn't planning on premiering the video online or at a con for a while anyhow, so I thought I'd through my hat into the ring. That would explain my out of nowhere entry.

I thought about that when thinking about what to send, which is why I sent what I did as opposed to my other current AMV that has not premiered online yet (saving that one for Christmas now :D).

But you did it to the finals which that's what counts. At my case I'm done with my participations as the time for the Viewers Choice is coming and we have to select the last 10 places for the finals

Language is always a problem specially if the viewers don't know any english but it's true that sometimes clips can traspass the bareer of language even when you don't understand the lyrics

Anyway, returning back to topic:

Viewers Choice votings start at december 15, the list of clips from the B group will be available to choose the last 10 finalists. With that, we'll have 70 finalists for the AKROSS Con 2011 that will choose the winners of all categories.

If you're participating for the first time in the Con, and in case you don't win the Trailer category, you can still go for the AKROSS Prize which is the prize for all the debutant authors.

So good luck to you ;)

It made me sad that there was no "Best Comedy", I guess that comedy isn't as important to the Russians as it is the Americans...which was obvious when I noticed 90% of the videos were flashy and listed as "Action" haha...

No man, the problem is that there weren't enough contenders for Comdey this year. It's not like the community doesn't care about it. Perhaps next year ;)

That's one of those categories that is NEVER cut from American contests, no matter how bad the entries are, lol...
