Adding Subtitle files to video.

Post by pacotacoshell » Sat Dec 24, 2011 1:26 pm

Okay, I know this is a really nubby queston. I downloaded a raw series, and it came with some .ass files that are apparently the subtitle files? Not sure. If they are, how can I add them to these episodes? A really simple and retard-friendly answer is most appreciated, because I'm not really that knowledgeable in dealing with files and such. Much thanks in advance.

Most players can support the subtitles automatically. Look in your player settings or ffdshow settings.

Ah I see. I thought you had to encode it or something, but all I had to do was throw the .ass file into VLC and it worked. Thanks!

Don't use VLC. If you want them to be hardsubbed, look at textsub() or masksub() from vsfilter.
