No, don't use xyz, that's the shit that made the game boring. Fusions and Synchros are fun to play and play against, xyz are too easy and have pretty boring effects in comparison. Appreciate the Doomkaiser, though. :3

You've got a point, but I was just trying to state that the xyz are versatile and good if you're trying to make a cookie cutter deck or need quick some filler. I actually use synchros more that xyz, due to me running a zombie swarming deck, but when I'm at a loss for counter-traps, running low on synchro material, nearly out of effect fodder for Zombie Master, without Zombie World, and/or my Endless Decay is useless, I end up abandoning all of my previous concerns of fair play and balance and quickly summon Number 39 to save myself.

tl;dr

Last resort tactic for the cheap and/or uninspired, such as myself, that end up winning tournaments through said "dirty" tactics. (In my town, at least)
Jack of all trades, master of none.

IDK if it's been mentioned before but dueling network is a great place to try out decks without wasting a whole lot of money or embarrassing yourself, or just having fun! It can be pretty boring playing strangers though...because most of the people on their DO NOT SAY ANYTHING except crap that pertains to the duel (like you have to tell em what effects you're activating before you actually do stuff), so it's like playing yugioh videogame most of the time except the players range from dumber than a brick to pr0 national level players.
