Here it is...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VTSR0V10

SN: I forgot to include "Jackass Through Time" from AMVS4.
I'm thinking that might be one of the "safe" clips, though.
And a few clips somehow found their way in twice so disregard one of them.
Anyway,...GO!

Hehe, wow, felt really good to see some of Darkness's stuff in the same production as mine ^^ I forget if I mentioned, but his clips were some of the ones that made me finally bite the bullet and do these back in '09, because of our similar humor style. Well... that and cancer, but ya know ^^ Glad so many of his are back.

What are your plans past the first rounds of cuts actually? Because this is going to be a true AMVS, not just some off-hand compilation. These clips have to work just as well with each other as they did with the others in their respective productions. And this is going to be a really fun challenge, because a lot of these are older jokes mixed with timeless jokes. I honestly would have to say we should have a discussion on clip placement after people give their two cents on clip removal/replacement, because that's no less crucial in this as it is in anything. And I do know you've just dumped them in for now ^^ I mean after all's said and done and you have a version ready for moving.

But one thing I do want to say here... if Sony POS isn't first, due to its classic nature and the nature of its buildup, I want Darkness's Through the Fire and the Flames Haruhi one as the first intro clip ^^ Seeing it now amidst all those clips, it represents a perfect balance of old and new jokes I think :D

I'll watch again tomorrow and think up one for the first round of cuts/replacements.

Oh and thanks for including the Eva Weird Al one. Totally forgot about it, and it's as hilarious as it was back then. Definitely belongs in this.

Once we reach our target time, I'll submit a tentative time line.
Then he discussion will commence.
Since "POS" was designed to lead the project, that's pretty much where it will stay.
Maru-sha has contributed the foundation for closing credits.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y25vJgtyR1E
The screen will contain all the production tags rolling past before the actual credits appear.
I really wish I could get a group of kids to do the intro with "anime music videos" and "AMV Salad" for the audio but something can be worked out.
I also wanna have a kind of highlight package running in the background as the actual end credits scroll.

Target completion date is November 1.
This is gonna be an extremely entertaining package from beginning to end...

Are you sure you picked the best ones?

At the very least I missed the stapler one from Salad 5 and there are a lot of clips in there I would throw out (at least 15). For instance the "The internet is for porn" one, that's been done to death, and I can't imagine Salad being the first parody to do it. There are quite a few with user tags on them, although you can't do much about that now. I've never really liked the 'apply directly to the forehead' ones either. There's a Cartman one that is really sucky in terms of sound. My favourite was the Thriller/Lucky Star one.

Keep in mind that this isn't including AMVS5. This is going to be played before AMVS5 when it does the rounds this year, so those clips won't be included. It's a compilation of the last four years.

Like I said above, this one will be a fun challenge, because it's got timeless jokes as well as old jokes that may be past their prime. To give them their full power, they have to be placed well, and likewise, some of the choices made may not be the best, so Deuce's method should help weed some out (although some of us may like ones others don't, so votes may have to be made on some). We may have to rewatch the originals to make sure some of the ones that are more timeless won't be overlooked. But also keep in mind the Con crowds love nostalgia (something I always seem to forget) so we have to take that into consideration.

For the Lucky Star Thriller one... honestly, I'd personally like the editing to be touched up on that one. It didn't seem to hit a single beat in the song, and that was very distracting for me. It'll be that much stronger if whoever did it could do another small pass on it to tighten up the timing if they can. But I agree, I like it. Especially due to Michael Jackson not being with us anymore.

Hmm I missed that, I thought it was a compilation of all parts and to be shown before the sixth Salad.
Imho the fifth Salad is the best. While it lacks the continued inside joke to a certain point it has more good clips.

I'll abstain from this project then, because you'd end up with something closer to 12 minutes than 22 minutes :P

Again, keep in mind he's looking at audience enjoyment. You have the reaction vids for the past two years to watch to get a gauge on how the audience feels in general. They're not necessarily all gut-laughing at everything, but there's just a general feeling of enjoyment and fun that many clips that aren't really 'hilarious' have in them in the con atmosphere, which I'm not sure if you've ever experienced. So you should definitely give your input on the merit of good clips and their presence. At the very least another perspective will be helpful. But think of the clips in terms of how they interact. And if you think a joke is too overdone, you can vote for it to be removed. The 'porn' one was from AMVS or AMVS2, so it wasn't old at the time.

Also keep in mind I've been showing these at panels for up to five cons each year.
I based the clips chosen for this compilation on reactions to them from all those conventions and the consistency of those reactions.
Given that, some of these clips are in my mind considered "safe" (like "Santa's Death Note" from II, "Bedroom Drama" from IV, "Head Off" from III, etc) but who knows...

I do have to agree with Krvabo that 'head on' was just not that well-executed of a gag in general, that and adult swim needed several bumps to be recognized as a running gag at all, plus it was kind of Otakon focused, so it probably doesn't belong in this one. AMVS3 definitely was generally the weakest production for overall stuff, but I must admit, I still like a lot of my clips from that one, and I really, really appreciate you using so many of them.

While the running gag didn't work, I honestly am still proud of my Excel Head On one as a stand alone, and in the audience at Otakon it did get a reaction, especially the eye twitch. The other two didn't really get one. The Hajime no Ippo Head On one doesn't really do much with the concept besides the obviousness of the punch. The Big O one was better in my opinion, but the connection and the way the shield blocked it, and the fact they were mechs was a bit of a distant connection for the medicine and it didn't seem like many people got it.

It just seemed AMVS hadn't refined the more complex running gag concept yet. 'SMOKE' was so simple and perfect that it generated the whole concept I think. So I'm glad you've got those in there. Then moonbunnychan descended from on high with a sun-like halo around her head with the Geico Money and forever changed our lives ^^

Sorry, Deuce, I didn't get the chance to watch again, I'll get something hopefully by later tonight, it's a tough decision. But one question, why isn't Haruvi Baadoman in there? I didn't notice the first time through, but I'm curious, since of all my clips it may not have the most audible reaction, but it's my favorite next to Sony POS.
