Well, since you've already watched Clannad, and Kanon (2006) was mentioned, I suggest AIR, the TV and the movie. That way, you can complete the Key animes.
CLAMP anime should be listed too. As in, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, xxxHolic, Chobits, etc.

Makoto vids are always Short and sweet (Sweet as in good)

Maria + Holic  Good anime. The First season, not the second.

Makes me feel sad, that is one of the best I have ever seen
If I EVER left out Clannad from my top 10 anime list, may I forever burn in hell...

I'm having second thoughts about Air, cuz most of my friends don't like it. The only CLAMP series I have is Reservoir Chronics (lol), chobits and XXXholic is a little too weird for me...

A definate MUST SEE for me was Macross Frontier! I thought it looked cheesy and stupid from the clips I had seen, but I was BLOWN away! It was awesome and exciting from each edisode to the next. I was definately surprised by it and I watched all 25 eps in 3 nights! :)

Yeah, throw away the "it's too old" thing if you can. Some of the best stuff ever made is pretty old. I'll add a couple of more Gainax shows:

Gunbuster
Kare Kano

Slayers
Giant Robo
Heroic Age
Tower of Druaga
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
and whatever else looks interesting for you, it depends on your taste. Shouldn't look over older anime though just because its old you might find a hidden gem.

Nothing's too old for me! lol I'm watching the Orginal Macross.

Older anime has a certain quality to it and can be VERY entertaining.
