I found some random twitter comments regarding it. It seemed like it went over pretty well and everyone was impressed by the quality of the videos in the contest. The only negative comment I found was someone thought the AMV contest room was "tiny" but didn't elaborate so I dunno what qualifies as tiny in comparison to what.

It might be a reference to the room size..tehninjaness wrote:I found some random twitter comments regarding it. yeah but I heard the room its supposed to be in can seat up to 1600-2000 people, so if its tiny I was just curious if it meant that its stated capacity is inaccurate and its smaller, or that relative to other rooms at AX its tiny because the others are larger, just wasn't sure.Vlad G Pohnert wrote:It might be a reference to the room size..tehninjaness wrote:I found some random twitter comments regarding it. Compared to other years, that IS tiny... A couple years ago when I was there I think there was about 4000+ in the audience..

Believe it or not I think the small room size has been a blessing in disguise. Because of the small room not everyone who is interested got their fix of AMVs and so other AMV events have had better attendance. Iron Chef was packed. Nic's panel which I just got back from was packed even though it didn't start till after 10 pm - it probably would have stayed packed but a lot left just before midnight because if you were at one of the further hotels you neeeded the last bus to get back less you walk.
So I think it's actually raised awareness of other events and helped their attendence. Here's hoping for a full blown AMV room in the future.

Oh believe me, if an AMV room ever comes to AX with the right formula of programming, it would be packed a lot of the time

Just out of curiosity, anyone have a list of what-all videos were played during the preshow?
