YouTube removes my account?

Postby miserysyndrome » Sat Jun 04, 2011 11:59 am

Hi.
Like I said in the title. YouTube is planning on banning my account because they removed some AMV's I uploaded.
I already know a way how to get past the audio muting system, how to re-enable the audio after youtube muted it,
But is there some kind of way that they can't remove my amv's? :uhoh:
This is the 2nd one already.
When they remove 3 I get banned and unable to remake a youtube account. :(
Thanks :)

Easiest way to not get videos removed is to not put videos there in the first place. Generally, there are sources that tend to be more risky than others, as certain songs and/or anime are more easily targeted for removal.
So either you stop doing certain AMVs, or you don't put them there. You can upload your videos here, after all, and we do offer a preview feature too (and if you donate to the site, you also get the possibility to embed your videos on other sites as well as a perquisite). :amv:

Thank you for the quick reply. I was thinking of removing my AMV's that i got online? Or are there only certain ones that "get intented" to be deleted?
The one is had to remove were only the onces with the remake of NGE-series. So I never uploaded any more of them and I started creating others. But now i even got alerted for elfen lied?

Well, obviously the more known a song or anime is, the more chances that the amvs using them will be taken down. NGE is a pretty popular anime, Elfen Lied isn't quite at the same level, but OTOH has quite a bit of gore which might be inappropriate for uploading on YouTube altogether.
The videos of mine that I had put on youtube have been there for years, and those of 'em that got the audio removed, I just deleted altogether without uploading them again.

Doesn't help.

They've have tracking techniques analyzing frames of the video content to match with copy-righted material, etc.

Best tip: If you upload AMV's to YouTube, don't be pissed at them removing your video. You are breaking the law of copy-right, so please rememeber you're the only one to blame.
Upload videos on your own risk. It's 100% obvious that YouTube will remove your video if that means they won't get their asses sued for providing your video using copy-righted content.
So yeah. YouTube is an alternative for AMV-uploading, but it's not your safest bet.

Yeah, you can't label your video as "bob's family vacation" and upload a Naruto AMV to fool them.

Plus making new accounts doesn't help as much as you think. They track IP addresses for repeat offenders... like me. :x

YT has removed three of my videos. All of them have been for music copyrights. However, when you do a search on every song that was in violation, it returns numerous results that haven't been taken down...still. Makes no sense.

1) Not everyone uses the digital fingerprinting technology that google offers. Some simply rely on interns to issue take-down requests manually.
2) It is possible to manipulate the data to bypass digital fingerprinting without even making the file look or sound different.
3) Google doesn't have to do the fingerprinting thing - the minimum the law requires is to respond to each DMCA complaint request. Therefor the technology doesn't have to be perfect... it doesn't even have to be that good (see point 2).

Hi ~ I've just joined having recently made my first AMV which I posted on YouTube a couple of days ago. I'm surprised/alarmed to hear that YT take AMVs down - I thought they had a deal whereby if they spot copyrighted material they just slap an advert on it. I assumed any income generated from it then goes to the copyright holder as compensation. Is that not how it works? If it isn't it should be.

Possibly, but if the copyright holder wants the video taken down, they have that right.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. Indeed YouTube = FailTube. Nonetheless, it is a good tool for now, and their 2 GB size limit is easier to work with than here.

I recently uploaded my first AMV to YouTube, and got a notice saying that they knew what song was in the video but that it wasn't a big deal, the only repercussion is that my video is bannned in Germany. Did this happen to you before yours got banned, or did you get no such notice? And do you think mine could be banned?

Thanks

There's very little reason for anyone to encode a video larger than the 100mb limit we have here.

If YT wants to ban me I receive first a message saying that one of my vids contains copyrighted material, specyfing which video and the company claiming rights like Tv Tokyo.

So I just simply erase the video inmediately I receive the message cause if I just leave it like that, in hoirs I got the strike :S

That's the reason my acc never gets strikes, even when it was banned once and got it back

One of them being a lack of encoding knowledge, needless to say...
