I didn't like those choices much at all. First isn't melodic at all, and the other was a complete downer. We obviously can't get something too upbeat just to interrupt it constantly, or we'll just piss everyone off, but we can't make it so slow that we may as well tell them to leave. If you don't have anything planned like last year, then there are a couple choices, find something classic rock, or change the production name to match something. Happy Meal doesn't necessarily mean much as far as I can see anyway (plus it doesn't quite fit the progression of titles ^^). The TV Dinner song was perfect in that it had points to cut in and wasn't so up beat that the cut-ins annoyed everyone by cutting off the music. It wasn't a particularly great song, so it worked well as background that kept everyone's attention.

I'll keep my ears open and check my music collection for something that could potentially work as well. Something may pop out as a good potential.

Any chance you can link the past amv salads in your banner sigs so they're easier to find?

Whoops... was shown how to that a while ago but forgot to do it. ...and forgot how.

There's a list of links, first link is to the most recent one, AMV Salad 4, down to the first production which was actually called AMV Hell 3.14. I personally have only taken part in the last two, as is obvious in my sig of course.

I found a song about salad, I'll send you the link in a pm on facebook when I get home, my thunbs are too big to try and copy the URL on my phone to paste it with out it taking me 30 minutes to do lol. It's nothing special really but could be used for future projects.

If we are going to do a blooper reel I have a blooper from stargate sg1 I've done with full metal panic, I think it's rather commicL and will render it into something smaller and send it your way when I get home as well. But if we cut away and do the blooper clips like we did the reading email ones in amvs4 that would work better than doing it actual movie style I think because that way people wont confuse those with the production tags. (bloopers are normally -all the ones I've seen-run along next to the credits which is why I say cut away to them)

I used to have my sig banners linked to the Salads but the 'org only allows for 255 characters for the code. Even with using all "tinyURL"s I can't get them all in.

As for the closing song...maybe the end theme to Sesame Street? No lyrics in it but instantly recognizable. Or the ending to Muppet Show? Maybe even the Benny Hill theme? Something that doesn't necessarily rely on lyrics..?

Sorry for sending you all those emails this morning Deuce, I was in an editing groove and sent you a bunch of download links...but hopefully they'll be of use ^_^

I spent a little time pulling up theme songs and found the original Power Rangers theme and the Tra la la la song from the Banana Splits or the old batman theme song. Any of which I think we could section off to put any added clips in the credits or tune it down for the production tags that have audio. Just thought I'd bring up a few suggestions ^_^

Well....if the explosions thing thing is the running joke....why not Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions. =p
(which could be especially fun if whatever the last clip is is some sort of totally ridiculous one)

Jesus christ... Moonbunnychan strikes again! This is a multi-layered joke if we pull it off, plus it's still easy to do! First off, the explosions we can do in the next couple weeks if everyone does one. If we don't have the ability to update the files by the 27th, I may not have time to do more than the intro. The character editing frame-by-frame WILL take a long time. I've gotten faster, but it took a good 6 hours for one 2.5 second edit ^^

Anyway, this song is perfect. The same as TV Dinner in terms of just upbeat enough, and also points in which to cut it for the purposes of our tags. On top of that, if we can pull off the explosions running gag idea, it will be subtly connected in a very fun way, especially if we have a few tags end in explosions. Like Krvabo's snapping one works. Plus it's a funny song in and of itself. Even better is, we'll have the chance to search some animes for guys walking away from explosions to cut in behind the credits in time with the song in order to keep relevance, but ALSO alleviate boredom by giving them something to look at other than scrolling text!

Moonbunnychan, I want to have your babies!

Ya...that was also my thoughts exactly.

Also, as to some of mine.
The huge amount of Sailor Moon is my fault...sorry bout that lol.
I actually thought the mnemonics one one of my better ones ^_^; It's based on those old school films so the narrator and the teacher aren't the same. I saw in the comments that at least one person liked it. So...I'd really like to run it by the test audience at Anime Mid Atlantic (I assume you're still doing that Deuce?). If it falls flat...then the masses will have spoken and I'll let it go. Maybe it would fit best going before the title, kind of as a lead in?

The She-Ra one I'm less confident about....I'd still like to at least get a gauge of reaction from it, but I'm much more willing to let it go...especially if after whatever else gets submitted it's running a little too on the long side.

The Friends on the Other Side one is from The Princess and The Frog...I'd be willing to wager you're in the minority for having not seen it. It's the scene where he gets turned into a frog so there's sort of an ironic connection.

I'm kind of surprised the Star Trek one has gotten such a positive reaction...I honestly didn't take much time trying to sync it up because I didn't think it would go over so well (in fact I almost didn't submit it). I can work on it though. While I'm at it, should I make the end more uniform with whatever kind of explosion you guys are doing?

I'm also surprised the Too Sexy one seems popular. I was super unsure about that one. It actually began it's life as me setting out to make a full amv and realizing it didn't really have the momentum to carry it's self for the full song. I was also worried it was too "have to know the series."

I debated long and hard on keeping the Duck Hunt title screen in, and whether it added to the joke or made it too long. I'm guessing from what you all have said, it's better WITH the title screen?

The Azumanga cake isn't so much a finished product as it's "I needed something to show for this". It's been a BITCH to try and sync. If you want to take a stab at it...by all means.

For the Robot Unicorn one, I figured just once in something wouldn't be so bad, and it's sorta different from the AMV Hell ones. I can make the end more explodey though...well just so long as it doesn't end up being too many of them and overkill.

For ones that aren't mine:
The I'm On A Boat one was actually one of the few to catch me off guard enough that I did in fact, laugh out loud. I don't know what it is, maybe it's just how straightforward it is, but it's actually one of my favorites.

The first time I saw the Muppet Babies one I wasn't sure what I thought about it, but then I watched it just in isolation and realized it was really clever if you're familiar with the movie. I think it would work better towards the front when people's attention span is still high. I also noticed it shares a few scenes with the Toys R Us one so they should be pretty far apart.

Also I think the Kung Fu Panda one works best where it currently sits, roughly in the middle. Also that's from the theatrical trailer and exactly how long it is. Since it's in a theater the joke of it is that he's staring at the audience, hence the "you guys look amazing by the way" line. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6d6Ws-Xnd0 <---if you're curious as the original)

I've been super busy lately, so not sure when exactly I'll get to polishing up the stuff I've mentioned though.

I can take a stab at it if you want, I've been working on lip sync so it will give me good practice. I'll play around with it and send you the DL file ^_^ Sound good?

As for the panda, yeah it's the original length, I had played around with making it shorter but it just didn't seem as funny.

I've sent in one but it was more of a "I see that coming", are they supposed to be that way or random?

I literally LOL'd at that explosion even though I knew it was coming (just didn't know how or when). I'd like to keep it.
And yeah, the explosive closing credit idea sounds like a hoot.
I chuckled at the thought of the Addams Family song ending in a boom.
I should make a new tag myself...
