Although I live close I don't live close enough to know the layout and the food as much as I did Long Beach and Anaheim which I could handle really easily.

That said. This probably will be the first year I don't make it to the AMV dinner. I've got tickets for the midnight premiere of TF3 set aside which is the same night. It's at the theater next to my hotel and I haven't missed a midnight premiere of this franchise. I don't think I could really call myself a TF fan if I didn't make it, especially since one month prior I'll have been to Botcon.
Michael Bay made you do it. :x
Arguably yes, and although I will admit TF2 wasn't that great there's just something totally different about seeing it with the midnight first crowd than other films.

TF2 spoiler

Some random woman in the audience in TF2 screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" when Optimus died was awsome.

The release puts one hobby irritatingly at odds with another. But I've been a TF fan since I was 2, own EVERY figure released in the U.S. ever, have every episode recorded off of the TV on VHS copies, played each TF game no less than three times (except the first movie game which is abyssmal) . . yeah this list gets ridiculous.

What's the average age age this? I'm debating attending but I feel kind of weird about it since I feel everyone is going to be older than me.

Minimoto, the average age is not important! because we are all kids at heart and you are certainly more than welcome to join us. however i think the youngest attendees of the gathering have been around 12.

you are also welcome to bring friends to help make you more comfortable. this isn't a strictly editor gathering by any means. it's for anyone who wants to hang out and go nutty.

I still demand even non editors be put on the spot and introduce themselves.

Mk, Stryyder and i are gonna head to LA on Saturday and square away where we're gonna gather. We'll check out what's around the LACC and the Westin Bonaventure. If we can't secure down anywhere decent then we're gonna go back to Oiwake since that place has worked overall the last 3 years.

any last minute requests or suggestions?

We found a place near the Mariott and Bonaventure that seems ideal to have the meet and greet. we are now waiting to hear back from their events coordinator.

Will this be on the Wed or Thurs of AX week?

I might be able to make it on the Thursday (June 30) if I can at least get July 1 off and come in/leave early (6am-3pm) on Thurs.
