I had a flight to catch. next time YOU go to the con and go to the awards ceremony :P

That wasn't targeted at you or anything. :uhoh:

I was just saying that I thought it was odd, because usually there's always been one or two people around here that go to the cons awards ceremonies, especially some of the bigger ones like Otakon, Sakura-con or whatever.

I wasn't in the contest, and by that time I was a drooling mess. Moreso than usual, anyway. Plus, Vlad had just given me my shiny medals from Tekkoshocon and I wanted to see them gleam in the sunlight. :awesome:

Anyone happen to catch the attendance figures either? AB's trying to move up the list and Sakuracon is up there too. 19,165 out here on the east coast.

Thank god. I already told Vlad there's no way in hell I could do the Graveyard Shift AND IE again. The only thing that got me through that on four hours of sleep was a vente caramel macchiato, a donut and fear of personal embarrassment. Well, that and I didn't want to throw up all over Vic's nice equipment. He was kinda scary about tech setup. :awesome:

I'm sorry. Maybe some thoughtful people @ Sakuracon can plan to bring their tech to the awards to do the tweetan thing too next time. I'm honestly surprised so few people at cons do that.

I honestly NEVER thought to do that, and Sakura-Con's AMV Contest does have its own Twitter account. Though it is mainly to try and help get info and announcements that I also email out

Guess it's true...popular anime in AMVs always get the votes no matter how well edited the others are. =/

Might just be a difference in scale of the announcement venues - I don't know when you guys do it, but for AB, the winners are announced / shown at the Masquerade intermission to over 5000 people, then again on a panel on Sunday morning, and a 3rd time at closing ceremonies to another 1000+ person crowd. Lots of chances for people to tweet or post the results live, and I believe people other than me did.

for Sakura-Con I dont know the winners until Saturday evening, then I hold off announcing them until Sunday, a combination of announcement at closing ceremonies, and a panel
