The Last Song (by Prodigi) & Sunflower (by Nessephanie)

Two new vids. One from me, one from Liz. First, mine! >:D

Stolen from video comments:
This video came about over various discussions I had with Brad over the last few years whenever we discussed BECK videos. It seems the mold for BECK videos is basically to use lots of band footage, and uh... yeah. I always felt there was a story to be told about Koyuki and Maho, minus all the band stuff, so here it is.

(The above of course does not include Ileia's awesome "Say It")

This video is 2-3 years in the making (conceptually) as I'd been visualizing it for quite a long time before I finally ripped and prepped the footage.

This is definitely one of my favourite videos I've edited in the last few years, and in the words of Brad: "This is a return to form for you."

Next up is the wonderful, charming and ever-so-talented Mrs Backofen!

In typical Nessie fashion, there are huge spoilers for the movie if you haven't seen it yet.

Cal's thoughts: AWESOME.

P.S. Huge props to Brad for making a totally awesome set of bumpers for both videos <3

The Last Song: It's been awhile since I've seen a good Beck video  I wasn't a fan of the constant crossfades, but the feeling was there for sure.

Sunflower: I was wondering when you were gonna release another video :) I loved the movie and this video is a great tribute for it. *when are you gonna release another j-dorama video? :3*

Good job you two

You know how much I dig The Last Song. It doesn't hurt that BECK is pretty much my all-time favorite anime and you told the story that was always more interesting to me, and you worked the band footage into it in a very relevant way. The build-up and payoff was excellent. Job well done!

And Liz, Sunflower is a beautiful, cute, and heartwarming video done in a style that can only be called "a Nessie video." You never cease to impress me with your editing. I love the video and I love you! <3 <3 <3

At first when I read that your vid wasn't centered on band footage and like..actually had a story I was worried that it was gonna be close to my idea, but thankfully it was just like a badass romance video. Awesome vid fer sure.

As for you nessie, good as always. One of the few editors that could make me sit through and enjoy a video as girly as that :o.

Extremely well done on the Beck video prodigi.

It was something I was actually working on [although a completely different story], so I know how hard it is to find poignant scenes and tell a compelling story that doesn't involve the band, but you did a fantastic job with it. I thought it flowed extremely well together, and the music/anime just CONNECTED. One of my favorite Beck videos to date.

@ProdProd: I always love the strong emotion you have in your videos. Was very well edited and the build-up was awesome. Nicely done, loved it

@LizLiz: I finally decided to watch Tangled after you released your video haha Had to give it a full watch beforehand lol Absolutely loved the movie, and your video did not disappoint as expected :) I'll be looping this for awhile. >_>

Awesome job you two <3

Prod... good stuff. I was somewhat going "meh" during the first two-thirds of the video but changed my mind when it finally tied together with the finish.

Prod: It started a little iffy IMO but the rest of it was pretty awesome. The ending was great.

These are my thought exactly. The last chorus with the live-performance scene gave me goosebumps!
I enjoyed it, which is rare when it comes to this sort of editing really, so great job man

As for Sunflower, I will actually watch it later on since I was planning on watching the movie first

Woo. Thanks! You're video is pretty awesome :o only you could make me like a video using a Glee song.
OropherZero wrote:awesome drama vid, favourite of yours in a long time  Probably grab Beck and give it a second chance now.

Definitely do it. BECK is an amazing slice of life anime. It's been my favourite since I saw it 5 years ago.

I was totally nervous when I sent you the first beta >.> But totally happy when I sent you the third beta that was complete up until JUST as the climax starts. You were like "AWW MAN!" YEAAAAH.

Do it. BECK is good times. Needs more good vids.

Nice. That's how I wanted it to go. To kinda start out slow before slowly building up and totally hitting you in the climax.
Pwolf wrote:Prod: It started a little iffy IMO but the rest of it was pretty awesome. The ending was great.

Thanks Scott =O I've always been interested to see if you'd do a BECK video <.< you'd make it awesome
