Shattered Effect.

This might be hard to explain, but. I'm recently new to using Vegas, so I've been looking on how to create a Shattering effect (Like a mirror being broken)

Because the anime i'm using stares at a mirror, and i want that mirror to shatter into a different image..

Any ideas on how i can do this?

Mainly plugins - there is a Wax plugin, also this

Doing it only in Vegas is possible, but it would take about a week, I suppose :>

You could do it with masking. Say it breaks into 4 pieces, mask those 4 pieces on 4 different copies of the same clip, use keyframes to move them as you like.

Of course if you want a lot of pieces and complex motions that would take a lot of effort.
