well, if your looking for the best -free- stuff around .. then its a whole new ball game:

PHOTObie = free photo editor w/ layers ( I haven't figured-out how to do Transparancies yet!!! )

Mini Poster Razor = .. free and it makes these Image

Acoustica Mixcraft v5.2 = free DJ Audio Maker ( keep those heads pop'n :asd: ) gotta have a Sound Track! :nose:

DDClipLE v3.6.9 = more audio tracks then you know what to do with & a video window for sync alignment. :amv:

t@b zs4 2005 = free Video Editor with transparancies and roto-scope/cutter.

.. just because its free doesn't mean that we ( those who have been here a while ) know how to use it! :shark:

I wouldn't say that all editors are the same. Some do things more faster and easier than other editors.

My personal weapon of choice is Premiere Pro CS5. I would pick up test versions of good NLEs like Premiere Pro, MAGIX or Sony Vegas to see which one suites you best.

OK .. then .. lets try this question from a different angle:
Which Is The Easiest Editor To Learn?

Rules are:
1) No FAQ researching ( newbe's never read those things anyways' )
2) No Pop-ups' ( unless your hovering-over a certain section too long! )
3) Easiest to Load and Go.
4) No Project Settings Changes ( everything defaulted and ready for use. )
and finally
5) Easiest to SAVE.

.. Ready ... ... GO!

Personally, I use Adobe Premiere and Vegas.

Adobe Premiere to use other Adobe products, cause I just like to keep things organized. But if its a simple, render the video with some minimum effects, then I use Vegas.

Honestly its your choice on this. Premiere might be a persons #1, but to you it might be -3!

if you want something easy and quick use sony vegas, operations in detail effects and transitions in addition to color correction really hurt you ..
if you want detail on effects, transitions and color correction using adobe after effects, is more complex and difficult to use but it's worth
