Do you guys prefer CS4 or CS5?
I only have CS3 at the moment and am finally going to upgrade but not sure if I should upgrade to CS4 or 5. I've only worked with the demos for both which frankly wasn't enough time for me to ge ta full feel for the system. So far I prefer importing in CS5 because I am more used to working with scripts than the workaround method I had to use in CS4. CS5 also feels more stable to me and easier on plugins; conversely though I think I prefer CS4's layout. CS4 also has the cost thing in its favor since it will be cheaper than CS5.
Just want a few opinions so I can decide which version to upgrade to.

If I'm not mistaken, CS5 requires a 64 bit OS, whereas CS4 does not. That might factor into your decision.

I could never even get the trial of CS4 working on my system because of some registry hacks adobe made to my system. CS3 -> CS5 did seem like a major jump for the interface, but the stability of the software is worlds better. I've never made use of the cooler features, but I like the time remapping in Premiere CS5 and I'm sure when i stop being retarded, the AE rotobrush tool will be useful without having to do hours of frame-by-frame touch-ups.
If your system can only run a 32 bit OS, the hardware probably doesn't hit the minimum system specs to run CS4 without issues either... or even CS3 for that matter.Nicho Void wrote:If I'm not mistaken, CS5 requires a 64 bit OS, whereas CS4 does not. That might factor into your decision.

CS5 is a better software, hands down. CS4 is buggy and unstable. Your real choice should be CS3 or CS5. If you already have CS3 and want to upgrade, then CS5 is the best choice.

Really? I had a lot more stability issues with CS3 than I did with CS2 or CS4. I haven't tried CS5, so I can't compare there.Pwolf wrote:CS5 is a better software, hands down. All the CS's are pretty unstable. CS4 was awful to me, CS3 worked a lot better imo. CS5 has been the only exception. I've had very little issues with it.LantisEscudo wrote:Really? CS5! what i really liked about it is that after effects and premiere pro are native 64 bit applications that way i can use all my 16 Gb of ram >.>
