Hey, wait a minute, yeah! :P Hehe, quit complaining and be part of the solution! You make some clips too! :D

My issue is not ideas, but time to make it. Anyone found any really good methods of breezing through footage? Certain series I need to look through MKVs and they don't glide through on MPC, so it's a bit tough. Anyone know a player that glides through footage easier? I know VirtualDub does, but MKVs make VirtualDub unhappy.

Maybe you only liked three minutes of it

But anyway, it SHOULD be like ten minutes of stuff (and if it's not something bad happened).

And even though you have it in Ohayocon Deuce, you should totally include your Phoenix Wright video, it's pretty great.

I've been told I need to fix the pronunciation of Godot but I just might do that.
I'll take a break tonight from constructing Excalibur and open the AMVS5 folder and see where we are.

I plan on submitting something for this, but since I'm not really past the idea phase, so I'll keep quiet on that.

If you're still looking for an idea for a running gag, I have a few but feel very ill-experienced to judge their value ,so I'm going to throw all of them out there for other people to weight the merit of:

The kool-aid "oh yeah"...

The engerizer bunny... keeps going, and going, and going... interupted plenty pseudo-commericals in its time.

"Side-effects may include"... I may sick and alone in always being amused by these, but I find them funny. You see a commercial telling you how much more awesome your life would be with a pharmaceutical then you're told in a dismissive monotone that it may kill you. Ask your doctor about it today!

Hmmm...the Kool-Aid thing isn't such a bad idea.

Considering the concept theme,...whaddy'all think?

The Kool-aid one could work, but I have trouble thinking how it could be done effectively. It would probably require a lot of editing and choosing reactions to it and such. It also has a similar impact style to the geico money, which I personally think we should try and go for a new style impact, but it's definitely not a bad style. If you have any specifics, that could help explain how you see it happening.

Energizer bunny I like better to be honest. Again, it's the same style humor as geico money, but not as percussive in its impact. I could see massive action scenes and then it goes through the scene. It's almost like the opposite end of the spectrum from the money style impact. I could see the energizer bunny going through an FMA battle, an Afro Samurai battle, and a scene where they're all sitting around in Ghost in the Shell just as easily across the board, so it does offer a LOT of versatility. I'd be for this one if we can't think of something more original.

Side effects one definitely works similar to the energizer idea in a different direction. But I think it'd work stronger as a one shot. To be honest, if we could get any of Steven Colbert's fake pharmaceutical side effects from youtube or something, they'd work soooo well for many many things.

All quite good ideas. Energizer is my personal favorite of the three. One thing we could do, because the audience will be able to tell it's kind of similar to te Geico Money, is to have them face off. Almost bring in some continuity from AMVS4.

I rather like the energizer bunny one, in fact I think I can even already think of a few good ideas for it.
I also like the idea of Kool Aid or the side effects thing but I think they'd work well just as single bits instead of running...pretty much for the exact same reasons Gaelstrom already mentioned.

I think maybe the side-effects thing might work best at the end, as side effects for the whole AMV salad....

I'm sorry...did you send me a ZIP of stuff?
I just looked in the AMVS5 folder and there are only four clips in it.
So we don't have even ONE minute of material at the time.

EDIT: never mind...found it.

I like the idea of the side effects. I'm not sure how we might be able to get Steven Colbert side effects, or whatever, those may be more fun to put clips to, but normal ones work as well. I can't think off the top of my head which of the commercials I know are the most ridiculous. I'd imagine taking some of the better love scenes from animes like Clannad and such would be great for the side effects, since they always show happy people in god damn fields as they read off the things that will cause your bowels to explode.

Also, moonbunnychan, mind if I take a look at some of your stuff? I can't believe you have that much done already. Usually we all go to the wire ^^

I finally got around to extracting the MANY clips from the ZIP she sent.
Half of them were LOL-worthy and the rest showed potential.
I'll make a brief critique list and pass it along.
And now that the creative mojo seems to be rolling again I think we'll be okay.
That is as long as everyone hard-wires the production schedule (first post) into their psyches... ;)
