That's kind of what already happens in the U.S. when some eroge come over. 19-year-olds in a clearly high school
freshman setting? Someone was held back a few times, and that teacher hitting on them is a creep both for going after a student,
and a student that has developmental issues. The attempt to make it age-of-acceptable actually made it worse in other ways.
Sometimes it even happens in the original. IIRC, Peace@Pieces was set in some sort of ambiguous high school-slash-college situation I've still not really figured out.
i would love to see a court case arguing that the author does not have the right to make his characters older than they appear hehe, would be hilarious to see the arguments on both sides
