XVID need to set SAR

Postby norlane » Sun Dec 19, 2010 9:07 pm

MY NOTES
just crop(not resize - it's important) your anamorphic DVD's source and if it's PAL use PAR=64:45 and if it's NTSC use PAR=32:27
Also DVDs produced around 2006 and later are non-ITU while most older ones are ITU i checked this with a avisynth script.
Made avisynth script and cropped out any black border.Just crop not resize.

QUESTION ?
Using encoding frontend MeGUI with Xvid codec.
How do i set my SAR -- 64:45 Do i need to set a SAR / PAR like in x264
Can see the comand line options on Advanced tab.

Just mux into mkv if you want to set the DAR to 16/9.

avi container doesn't really support what you want to do (it does but no one really reads the flag so it's pointless). So if you are using xvid in avi for compatibility for something, just resize it.
