WD External not working...?

Rather odd, my Western Digital external drive isn't working. When i hook it up to my laptop it isn't getting recognized, can't start it up. This just htoday, and its been working fine for the last year. So any reasons this might have started happening?

Never mind, a simple firmware update fix'd it.
