Naru 2 U 2010 Contest Results

Post by EVAR » Thu Nov 18, 2010 5:28 pm

Sorry to keep you all waiting, but I had to wait for real life to stop booting me in the quarters long enough to do this. I had to finish this up right on the con weekend (which meant I had to miss big chunks of the con), so please forgive (and politely correct) any errors below.

First of all, apologies to Nicole Varone. I mixed up the music credits for her two submissions at the contest showing; they are corrected below. Links to the entries/entrants on the Org are added as I find them. If I miss any and they're available here, please let me know and I'll edit this post to include them. In playing order:

The opening screen:
WARNING:
The Naru 2 U 2010 AMV Contest contains plot spoilers, good and bad music (which is subjective, anyway), subtitles, swordswomen, bandits, three passports, a couple of visas, a Lambourghini, vampire priests, actual visual kei, a magical catgirl, some manga, teen angst and traces of diatomaceous earth.
Enjoy the show.

Well, I did explain in the rules that the winners are determined by entry, not entrant. These things happen. First time for me to have it happen to someone three times, though.

Thank the judges. It was the tiniest of margins between this and "I Got It From Anime."

Oops, error. In the overall score generated by the spreadsheet I use to tabulate scores (that part is used for determining the Grand Prize winner), Crimson Rhapsody just edged over Me, Myself and Me.

I have a question to the Head Cons Staffs your prize will be sent out soon but how do you send the prizes then because I live in the Netherlands is there going to be a Ship package or something.

I'm very curious about it by the way congrats to the winners of the Categories as well the Winner and the Runners-up also compliments to the other editors that make to the finals.

I must admit I really like more the AMV's then my own fanmade cons here in the Netherlands. The level AMV editing in Canada so much better then in my country.

I really like the Trinity Blood AMV the most Crimson Rapsody BEST composition the editing was very clean and I love the composition Good job for the AMV editor.

I'm looking forward to hear from the Staffs of Naru2u.

If you want to know my Adress just mail me.

You should be getting a package with an anime DVD (chosen by the con head) and a certificate in the mail before too long. I hope you don't have any problems with R2 NTSC DVDs.

We have it, thank you. That's why we ask for your mailing address on the contest application form--so we can mail you whatever prize(s)/certificate(s) we're awarding if you win.

Watson, Naru 2 U.
