Hi there. Jason here, breathing some life into this thread! Sorry for being away so long.

There's still time to get your videos in! You have until DECEMBER 1 to get your entries in. If you're having any problems or questions, email amv@animelosangeles.org or send me an email on my personal account. Just be sure to put like "Amv contest" in the subject line or something, so I know what its about.

I'll ask Mikal to send out confirmations for anyone who's already entered. We're pretty workable, but we really need to stick to that Dec. 1 deadline this year.

Oh, and if you're attending this year, you'll want to get there early. If things go well, we might have a surprise for you guys ;)

Haha, I deserve that one ;). We'll definitely start on time this year. I've made it a point to make sure the entire thing is in several staff member's hands a week before the con, so even if an earthquake hits and I have to hike up the mountains via wagon train to escape the valley, someone will be able to start the show!

Kidding aside, that's part of the reason we're sticking with the deadline so closely this year. We're only going to have about 3 weeks to put it all together. Hopefully, things will get done way before then.

You're definitely invited by the way, Caster Troy. We've gone by six years now and haven't had the privilege of having your vids before!

I wasn't gonna send any vids since they've already won quite a few awards and have been to quite a few cons, but maybe I'll make an exception. :)

We've had controversy surrounding entries like that in the past, but there's no rule against vids that have won in previous contests. As far as I'm aware of, the only thing we limit is the number of entries that can be submitted per creator or group, so no one person can "stack" the entire contest with their stuff. Outside that, its fair game! =)

Ok cool! I'll try to submit this weekend once I have the time to find my mpeg2's.

Chances are I'll most likely not be able to make it on the Friday of the con (traffic's going to be killer after work on the 405 from Orange County :x ), but will there be a contest re-showing on the Saturday of the con along with the awards?
