San Japan 4TW, Accepting AMV Online Submissions 10/25/10

Third time's the charm. <3 This is Ernest once again from AnimeFunTV.com; we are proud to sponsor and host our 3rd AMV Contest at San Japan 4TW in my home city of San Antonio, TX :D Scheduled for August 5th-7th 2011 at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel.

------------------------------------

After three years at SJ we think finally nailed the sweet spot for how AMV Contest should be held. There some noticeable changes and added things, so lets take a look at them.

1. More time in the time limits: All categories are now at 5 Minutes Maximum. That also means this year the AMV Contest will be longer.

2. New split category, Comedy/Song & Comedy/p00p: This is something that was needed, Comedy/Songs are just for what it says, songs or parody songs are only allowed. Comedy/p00p will be only for AMV Hell style or homemade comedy animations.

3. Larger Prize: This year we upped the anti with the Best AMV Overall will now receive a $75 Gift Certificate to Best Buy (if the winner is international then they will receive an equal value gift)

4. Video Game CGI: both Japanese AND American video game CGI sequences are NOT allowed. (This includes Square Enix games) NOTE: This dose not affect Anime CGI (example: Initial D or Blue Submarine No. 6)

5. H-Fest AMV Contest: We have a new contest added to San Japan, and thats the H-AMV Contest. Rules are very simple for it, but you must be 18+ in order for you to submit and view the contest. Rules for the H-AMV Contest are Here

To view the rest of the smaller changes of the General AMV Contest Rules & Guidelines for SJ:4TW. Click Here

To submit your AMV (and H-AMV) Online submission form is now up. Click Here

All submissions are due by July 29th, 2011

If you have any questions please do not be afraid to ask them here in the forum, PM, or email me at amv@san-japan.org

Wow, you're really posting the contest early this time around.

I was hoping you were going to go through with that idea. :awesome:

The Rules wrote:All Videos submitted MUST in a Recommended Frame size 720×480 (Standard) or 1920×1080 (Widescreen).

So, does that mean that 720x480 anamorphic widescreen (as an MPEG-2/4 file) isn't allowed?

No detailed guidelines for audio -- do you prefer 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz?

Also, putting it on the Contest Calendar so far in advance =

Anamorphic widescreens are allowed. as far as audio, we have no guidelines for it other the clearer the audio the better.
