all i really wanted to do was keep good quality with a smaller file size, and i have failed.
I have been told I have issues, I just say, no I have volumes...ususally they just shake their heads and walk away.

Zarx it was on the fourm guide It was Improving Visial Quality and Compressibility but i may have been from an older guide. And im sure this will sound lame, but thank you for commenting on my post. Can you tell me what scripts work with your program? I am new to trying to use Vdubmod so i really have no idea what the hell i am doing. all of this is being done on my complete AMV, and like i said, i just wanted to fix the quality and hopefully the file size.

I'm implying that if you intend to get anything that even vaguely RESEMBLES quality, you'd best be using modern software with the exception of your MPEG2 decoder.

Sorry I was in a hurry when I wrote the previous post.
Make sure you thoroughly READ the page of the guide to make sure you understand what it says.

Also you should show us some screenshots of your footage before and after the problem appears, so we can see what you are talking about.

step 1: open footage in vdub and go to some random frame
step 2: press alt+prtScrn. If you're using a laptop you may need to also press the fn key as well
step 3: open your favorite image editing program (GIMP, Photoshop, Paint,...whatever)
step 4: press ctrl+v to paste the screenshot
step 5: get rid of the rest of the vdub window
step 6: save as a png image
step 7: upload to imageshack (or other image host of your choice)

Why not just export the frame as a PNG in vdub itself like a normal person? Don't forget to convert the colourimetry to Rec.601 or it will get red shifted.

Make sure they're lossless images (png-24 preferred) and not jpgs or other lossy formats.
