The design work and animation is beautiful. It's very easy to edit to, because it maintains its high standard of quality throughout the series. Kind of like the Ef series, it gets pretty creative and experimental, especially the coloration and camera angles. It's both very dramatic and very heavy on the action, so you can choose between different genres.
And it's one of my all-time favorites, so some good vids would make my heart go pitty pat.
But there's only a handful of Casshern vids on the org. Maybe it's not popular enough. Prolly it's because the online DLs are watermarked (I preordered the BDs so don't look at me like that).
I'm hoping some people will start working with it when it hits America's shelves two months from now.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity to prattle on about the things I love about this show! ^_^ Our tastes are opposites; everything you see as a vice I think is wonderful.Bauzi wrote:I tried CS again and: UGH. Sorry to critisize your anime this directly, but I dislike it so much. The graphic style is unsexy for me.
Totally! It's a dark show (hint: everyone has a terminal illness); it's fitting for the style to follow suit. I've always been a big fan of the (classic Batman TAS-esque) high-contrast lighting with deep black shadows.Bauzi wrote:Everything is dark
Exactly! (Actually, I found the combat easy to follow, but I know what you're referring to.) The directing style is often very subtle; that's one of the first things that turned me on to this anime. I was watching ep. 1, and I saw this puff of kicked-up dust spin into a whirlwind as a result of Casshern's sudden movement. Sure, they could have just shown what happened on screen, instead of an indirect result of it--but that wouldn't have been as interesting.Bauzi wrote:and the fight scenes are bad for me. You can't see shit and you have to guess what's going on.
I watched it and thought to myself, "if every single episode is just like this, I'll be perfectly content." And I was. ^___^Bauzi wrote:The 1. episode turned me off so fast!
