Edit Button

Postby CastielTheFallen » Thu Jul 29, 2010 7:35 pm

Why the fuck is there only an edit button in most forums for Donors? This shit is ridiculous and not a positive thing for the forum at all. This isn't something that needs to be discussed either, it just needs to be fucking fixed.

Yeah, let's spend money on this nonprofit hobby so the music companies and anime companies have something to throw at us. Nice logic.

The money is spent for website maintenance and bills. I'm sure Phade has the paper trails to prove it.

Yes, but I don't see how crippling the functionality of the forum unless you pay money is looked at as just donations. We've got a donators forum as well as streaming, why the fuck should we be taking away from the community experience without donations?

Nothing was taken away. Edit buttons didn't exist at all for anyone before. They were a value-add for donators. In fact the decision was made apprehensively because people forsaw the eventual bitching years later in this very thread. Nothing was lost or crippled - it never existed in the first place.

That doesn't make it any less of a problem, bashar. Why should the people who want to edit their typos or fix something in their post have to go through the trouble of bugging a mod just because the org has some ridiculous reason to not want the edit button available? It's ludicrous. If we have a reason to not let normal users edit their posts, then donors shouldn't have the option either.

It's a value-add..... it adds value. It's a perk... it makes people... perky?

I'd always assumed that only certain forums like the Contests/Annoucement threads had edit buttons enabled, whilst others didn't. :uhoh:

What's the current philosophy, since I don't seem to know. I had no idea that'd it'd changed. :O

This is the only forum I visit on a constant basis that doesn't have an edit button in all subforums.

Thank you for your request for consideration. In reviewing your request, because it remains site policy, the edit button will not be enabled for general use, only in certain forums on the board. This policy will not be changed at this time.

Issue resolved, topic locked.
