Conneticon is also a officially a multi-fandom convention as of last year IIRC.

Youmacon allows any kind of Music Video (though MV is not implicit either) in it's contest. It also has a Video/Audio Track department and dedicated room that showcases all kinds of fan videos.

This thread is very educational. For those who didn't know where to send non-anime videos before, now we do!

Lets quit all this bullshit arguing and create the stupid forum. If it works, great. If it doesn't work, delete it and move on. Jesus Christ on a dildo, sometimes the org argues about the dumbest shit.

No.

No. People will bitch at us forever about it. It's easy to give extras people desire, but hard to remove them. Better to just deny them. :asd:

So yes, stop the bitching about the LAMV forum.

How about a compromise?

Instead of a new forum, how about you allow us to annouce "Other" videos in the annoucements forum bythemselves, but require there to be only one thread per person, and they can update that one thread with new videos each time, and only allow it to be updated once a month with all their new videos? For people who don't want to bother with the LAMV's or non anime videos, they can easily let the threads be igored, or could perhaps have a subforum in the annoucements forum where people can announce them, but put the extra restrictions I mentioned above. To me, this provides an equal balance of the focus to be mainly on AMV's, but allow those who wish to dabble in other areas to also see/critique their work as well. [And if doing all that or monitoring all that is too much work for the current mods, I'd be happy to regulate it, or I'm sure other members in this thread would take up the torch for it].

If that's too steep for ya, then just let us annouce them with our regular AMV's and get their opinions there in the thread with their other things? Ohwait... We're already doing it that way. :O

No way.

Will it help the org to have this?

Definitely, 100%

If we try it and it doesn't work, can it be easily removed?

Yes it can, but there's no way it wouldn't work. there are absolutely no downsides to having a lamv subforum and there are literally a gajillion upsides. The sky will rain money and all forms of suffering in the world will be abolished.

So yes, let's make this subforum.

hey, look, i can do that too

Btw, as Ileia was asking me about it on IRC, I should make clear that my previous post isn't to be taken as the whole administration position on this, but my view on it. I think at least some other mods have a somewhat similar view on it, but I should at least clarify that my no doesn't mean an official no...

There is a topic in GAMV to announce them (along the possibility to announce them along regular AMVs in AMV Announcements or having an announcement thread in donators' forum). It's not a sticky, but people have been bumping it with newer vids for years. But they want MOAR.

The can we not just move the thread to the announcements forum, sticky it and end this 10 page monstrosity? I mean, I don't see any harm in that.

the location isn't a problem, that would just be ridiculous.

the thing is that we dont wanna sift through 33 pages of videos to find some by our favorite people, and we might want to hear what people have to say about it..

personally, i liked ur idea, have the subforum where we can just post our own catalogues of misc vids, that would be pretty tight imo.
