The first 18 seconds are black and scratchy, I can't describe it but you'll know when you see it.

How can I do it in Vegas :O

Thanks for the help, :D

its' an optical illusion.
Levels are used in Photo-Imaging, Layers are used in Video.
1) start with a blank white image 640 X 360.
Spoiler :
Image
. a) use Black paint to darken the outsides in a circular motion; make it heavy paint.
Spoiler :
Image
now import this picture-ugly into your Editor as a "top-layer."
. b) set the transparency level to "white" on the first layer ( your picture ) +60%
. c) bring-in the Video and back-off he contrast, color and brightness.
Spoiler :
Image
and finally, look through your viewer at the image the Editor is now seeing .. done.

.. sorry for the delay, I wanted to make sure about something with
the Platinum version compaired to Actual Version which has Masking
built-in ( yes, there is a difference. ) Her are the results when dragging
the FX over the top images:

Spoiler :

As you can see by the bottom image,
it can be set for fairly fine & sharp cuts. This is one of the things the Full Version Excel's at.
yet, lets take a look at the top image once again. You can actually make the MASK image BLURRY
as if it were a Dream we were viewing. This works rather well when you get to the 3D Globe-viewing
effects used by Fortune Tellers.

Anyone can use a Photo Layer (level 1 w/o retention) and have it see-through to another Photo Layer (2)
.. Sony's Platinum Edition lets you have one moving layer Contunuoisly UPDATE ITSELF to the NEXT moving
layer AUTOMATICALLY. . btw Magix Pro 10 thru 12 can also do this "somewhat." The Pro 14 - 16 do it a
completely different way!

just FYI 8-)
