We already know that Japanese anime studios work with hired Koreans mainly. And?

There'll always be some blurring...

Kionon, Where are you going with this? Are you saying we should allow everything in, or not bother trying to apply logic and reason to the decision making process because we're hypocrites for not applying it in all cases?

The second.

I don't advocate the use of everything. If I had my druthers, I would allow non-Japanese manga-ka and animators where if you didn't know any better, you would assume that the person was a Japanese artist.

Rivkah, Tavi, Jan Scott Frazier, Christopher Butler all come to mind...

The second would imply arbitrary rules with a "because we say so" reasoning though. Granted, that is what we had before... Too much democracy infecting the org?

Discussion forums (any) aren't a democracy, never was and never will be.

uh... we're having polls and directed feedback threads from the staff. That sounds rather democratic to me.

As opposed to "this is what we decided fucking deal with it" - which isn't. (In many cases I agree with this method, but know when to call a spade a spade)

If Phade and doki dropped this site and made it a gay horse porn archive, could someone do something about it?

Nope.

That's why it's not democracy - the power is always in the hands of mods, admins and owners. Users can offer their views, can advice, argue, etc., but the final decision is always based on how doki slept last night ;x

They're asking for fucking feedback! How dense and anti-establishment :tinfoil: can you be!?! They're actively inviting feedback and doing polls for christsake! You think it's all going to just go up in a puff of smoke because it could? You can't give these honest hardworking people the benefit of the doubt that the forum they're providing is an openly democratic one without thinking it's all some illusion wrought to fool you? That's fucking pathetic.

First line of Wiki:
Wiki wrote:Democracy is a political form of government carried out either directly by the people (direct democracy) or by means of elected representatives of the people (representative democracy).
Any forums aren't those, supposed the users actually
- don't admin all.
- don't go around and vote a new admin every year or so.

Also, I think you're taking me wrong - I don't argue AGAINST this - I know that having polls and asking for opinions is very generous. Neither I think it'll go up in a puff of smoke (I think doki and Phade are too kind to do that... and I doubt any of them watches gay horse porn). It's just that this is NOT a democracy per se (and probably can't ever be completely), just thought I'd clear this up.

Of course, you are always welcome to keep your view as I can't take that from you, but I'll keep mine, if you please. I have seen too many fallen forums (and also too many arguments about whether administration is/is not democracy) to really care at this point ;x
