Ok, how's this sound guys? We'll keep it simple.

Technically, ShatteredFlame was ELIMINATED. Elimination took place in round 1. Atari dropped in round 2. Therefore, this would reduce the # of eliminations in round 2 by one. That's the logical sequence, am I correct?

Cocky attitude again, but whatever. I WAS thinking wrong. I thought for some reason part of gote's score was based off of the video made for him, but that's not true, all the score is based off of the video you make for whoever. I was dumb, sorry for jumpin' down your throat bro.

So either my idea of the 3-way or code's idea where he just makes a tribute for a judge would work.... go about your business everybody.

edit: Code, I don't think there was any question about how many need to be eliminated this round...

Had I known that he wouldnt have been able to progress onto the next round, I would've dropped in round 1, but i just wanted to get the video done and see me score :uhoh:

Ok, you AMv Contest Stalkers, I SEE YOU. Post your opinion on this situation.

I'd sleep on it, but gote and the others need to know who their partner is tonight to give them the most time possible.

If you wanted to score, you could have just asked me.

Seriously though, I think a tribute to a random judge would be a fair substitute.

come to think of it, that actually sounds better than the 3 person group thing seeing as how a lot of them have probably started (ik i told you otherwise on msn but whatever)

Ok, I'm stepping out to a trendy juice bar with some colleagues. I'll make the call when I get back in about 15-30 minutes and give time for the pms I sent out to come in.

I agree with others - there's no point to the eliminations if you just let people back in :(

Here's an idea though - instead of doing a 3-way (since I'm sure people have started, as gotegenks said), why not have him do a tribute to ShatteredFlame to keep it all fair instead of using a judge? If ShatteredFlame is up for it, of course.

List of Necessary Actions for Good Happy Success:
1) Pool funds and send one person with matches to both LittleAtari and SilkSk's houses. Proceed to burn them to the ground. Note: It is more economical to send only one person. Times are difficult right now.
2) Hire an anthropologist to observe and communicate with both contest coordinators and contestants of all Org contests to determine the clash of interest that causes every f#@$@! d@%! to sign up for contests they have no intent of actually being involved in or staying devoted to.
3) Hold a town meeting and enact a bill/ordinance that requires every citizen of a-m-v.org to shun "black-listed" members.
4) Search out and find repeat offenders and black list them.
Spoiler :
Black-list the anthropologist as well, she was probably in on it.

5) Remind editors that a competition of this nature is intended to foster creativity as well as highlight individual editors traits; frequently leaving contests will only ever show a lack of commitment, personal strength, and perseverance (as well as the inability to work under any kind of pressure).
6) Use extra funds (from the pooled amount listed in Rule #1) to purchase multiple boxes of matches for any future drops, who will herein/hereafter be referred to as "faggots".
7) "Faggots" are and will be "black-listed" and thereafter banned from participating in tournaments/competitions for a duration of three months on the first offense, six months on the second offense, and permanently after a third offense.
8) This rule set may also be applied to the "Multi-Editor Project" section of these boards if determined necessary by those present in the chair at the aforementioned town meeting (or may be enacted under Emergency Code 857B, which entails "a drastic increase in the amount of 'faggots' signing up for Multi-Editor Projects").
9) All of the aforementioned rules should be completely disregarded, as every one of them is completely and utterly ridiculous.

i'd imagine that using a judge would be (if anything) MORE fair...as they're supposed to be unbiased anyway, they can just have 10 more points of unbiased judging power.

although we could just grab a random passerby and ask him what kind of vid he wants, it makes no difference.

or i could make my own and get an instant 10/100

I am for no-one getting back in the contest. Could've been possible in r1, but not after. If I had to leave, work or just drop because of any reasons, I woul consider myself dropped and would:

1) feel like someone used my work I made to get so fare, even if he didn't think of it like that
2) not feel it necessary to provide substitute - it was my fault I didn't get the video in and the opponents should therefore win, provided they get in a video.

They aren't opponents though. If anything, they're teammates. Both editors in a pair could be eliminated, because it's entirely based on scores.

/puts on serious hat

Spam aside, Reda is correct. It makes it a lot more dififcult on me when people drop. When I run the next NeoEditor, I plan on combating this in the future. If there was an emergency, a death, or your house was burned down by voluenteers, I'd understand completely and never think twice again.. But I'm not gonna point fingers or dwell on this any longer. I've been given a hand to deal, and I've decided on how to deal with this.

Gotegenks will be making a video for a judge. I'm going to be the judge he's going to be making a video for, selected in the same manner that the partners in round 2 were selected.

The general consensus [well over 1/2 of the people remaining in the competition] was that allowing eliminated people back into contests is not fair to those that made it through on their own editing merits. I tend to agree. A problem that I frequently have as a coordinator is that I feel a great deal of sympathy for those that are eliminated. However, I cannot do that and be fair to the other contestants and maintain integrity. I'm really sorry for getting your hopes up SF, that was really unprofessional of me.

And regarding Kitsuners post about partners being eliminated, that's how Project Runway works, but that's not how I work. The scores of the individual is the determining factor. You're still opponents, but have to work together in order to develop your video concepts.
