It's not just about this year.

What would waiting till after the con do if it's still all relative now? If anything this is the time to talk about these things. As from here on out there is nothing we as editors can influence and/or if you want to see it that way "correct" for this year. So all we're doing is looking ahead to next year and beyond. Digging your head in the sand isn't going to make the obvious problems go away.

There are problems with AX, problems that people feel should be fixed. Topic's arise and advice is given. If you want to look the other way you're just ignoring the issues. I'm honestly getting a little tired of people other then DP getting snappy at me, when all I'm trying to do is help. Are people really that stuck up and 'protective'? Or is it too hard for you to wrap your mind around the fact that I might actually give a damn?

And to reference what someone else said. We're not walking in circles we're hitting a damn wall here.

Seriously =|

Wow. How many times must I say this. No one is out to get anyone. What's the point of improving when no one says anything? Once the contest is over, people will pretty much forget whatever issues they have beef with until it rises again, and guess what? the entire process starts over again. Yeah it comes off as "Drama" to you. Everyone receives criticism, goes the same with a video. (as I know you are fully aware of AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, the same process can be applied to this contest) So just take in what you agree with and look at what you don't, but just saying "oh hey guyz this is jus tew moooch for me les jus 4get bout it till lata kthnxbye!" helps so much doesn't it? -_-

Given it's been already been said that this point has been brought up last year, but fell on deaf ears, what if worst comes to worse (and I'm betting on this being the case) that this method of bringing up this concern, in this self-destructive fashion, to the powers at be at AX, ends up falling on deaf ears again? It's like "risk big, get back jack-shit" for the "give a shit about the shit" crowd.

s0matic wrote:With all that we're saying, it seems like harsh criticism to what otherwise seems like a smootly run contest. But I guess sometimes it takes harsh criticism to figure out what's wrong and hopefully move forward with that. And if that's not enough incentive to go "We should really take these into consideration to make this contest better in the future," then I really don't know what to say.

But hey, you'd be proving my pessimism right.

Getting the reference for something like that? Happens only once in a lifetime...

Good lord I hope somebody gets the reference.

I had the idea years ago to do a video to this song with custom 3D animation (use somebody like Jinnai or Keitarou as David Byrne), but I realized I'd never be able to put enough time into it to do the original video justice.

Also, I need to go back and re-watch the episode of "Muppets Tonight" where Kermit performs that song, now that I've seen the original video.

Edit: DAMMIT, beaten to it!

How did this video get into the finals?
you may ask yourself
How did i lose to that?
you may ask yourself
And you may find your video in the finals
And you may find your video in the finals behind a doki doki video
And you may ask yourself
Well how'd that video get there?

Silly Tim, that would make AX too simple to organize.

:awesome:

Oh no! Gonna start more drama!

It's quite funny how that word has been thrown around.

But I agree with Ileia, so far you've been quite civil and organized with valid arguments and criticism. It's just a shame people see it as drama :/
