Recoloring Eyes

Post by CodeZTM » Sat Jun 19, 2010 2:36 am

I'm wondering... What's the best method of recoloring anime eyes, with the least amount of "oh wow, this looks tacky". I've tried several different methods [red overlay with low opacity masked out to fit the eyes, taking REAL red eyes and trying to match them from other anime into a new one]. None of them really seem to look just right.

I'm wanting something similar to this one.

The eyes in question are Kyoya's from Ouran Host Club.

I hope ya'll can really help me out on this one, especially because I'm not very effects intelligent.

Make a GOOD mask of the pupil and then shift the hue. That oughta give the best result.

..

.

Why didn't I think of that before. /facepalm

The sad part is that I've done that with hair before, so it should have been the FIRST thing I tried.

Thanks mirk, that answered the question perfectly.
