Multiple Screen AMV

Postby Koopiskeva » Mon Dec 09, 2002 10:17 pm

I'm not sure whether its been done before, but I was just wondering whether it has, and whether the idea itself might work. I'm thinking of creating one that spans across multiple screens and yet they are all tied together still. The idea will probably flop, but I just wanted to get some input on whether or not it could work.

Been done and if done properly it is very impressive and can be very dramatic. I was thinking of doing it but it will have to wait until I get better equipement. Go ahead and do it.

What exactly do you mean? Are you talking about having the screen split up into like 4 regions, and having a different video in each one? I've seen this done quite well in a few MADs... One of those is Desire... I can't remember which other MADs its been done in.

What exactly is a MAD? Ya, anyways.. kinda like that, but the overall video is still somehow connected on a 'central screen' but with tangent screens on the left and right side. I dunno.. maybe I'm just going crazy here...

actually, i was thinking like the amv would have to consist of 3 separate amvs, but connected centrally. Your screen setup actually reminded me of this idea that I had earlier before... cause.. why should amvs only be confined to one screen... :?

otakuoutpost.com I think that is Tony's site. he has done something similar with his "One Day More" video near the end and I know I have seen more but memory fades from me for the moment.

Just watched 'One Day More,' and I think you've misinterpreted what I was trying to say. I'm talking about actual separate video screens, not just overlapping ones and composites. Sorry :?

In that case I think I know what you mean. there was an independant maovie a while back where the four principal characters were divided amongst four screens and sound would switch from one to the other as to what was going on all simultaniously. I think you are attempting the same thing (minus sound switching) in which case I still say if done properly it could turn out very impressive. And that is identical to the video I wish to try but lack the equipment for.

I understand what you're saying and that'd be pretty cool, but you have to remember if your video is going to be succesfull people are going to have to be able to watch it. Not even most cons set up three screens next to each other. I'm pretty sure i understand what you're saying though. It'd be like making three videos, all to the same song, and when you play them on three screens and sit the screens next to each other, like line three t.v.s up you have a surround video type feel, right? Just remember most of us have one screen, and two at the most.

heh.. surround video. Ya, If I'm going to make/release this.. I'll probably end up having to release a widescreen version where all the videos can be seen simultaneously.
