Using actual company logos

Postby OzzieAlThor79 » Sat Feb 27, 2010 12:32 pm

I am doing a trailer where I am planning on using a logo from an anime company (Bandai) as a clip (since it mimics the real trailer).

Is this ok, generally frowned upon or "HOLY CRAP DO YOU WANT TO GET BOOTED FROM THE ORG?!".

Thanks!

Eh, it's about as legal as anything else around here. Go for it.
You could always do what they do in animu and change 1 letter of the company (eg. Bamdai) if that makes you feel better

Honestly, I am fine. My wife is all "That's not legal! You'll get in trouble".

My response of course was "NONE of this legal dear!"

Her: "Well this is worse isn't it?!".

Me: "Not really."

lol

I'd say yea it's probably worse. It's bordering on libelous. Industry folks are more than happy to look they other way until you're impersonating them.

either way jail isn't that bad. The problem is they take you gaming rig and NEVER give it back. So if you're broke and get busted you won't have a super fast gaming rig for quite some time. I would rather spend 2 years in jail and get my money back on my PC than 6 months and get nothing, because that was such a bitch.
