@ Begi: The Codec does work, infact I can play the files with my media player. Just can't add them into Vegas, it's like I try to pull an .exe in there or something. And Vdubmod won't open because of that crappy error. I'll try that updated vdub next, though that wont fix the issue with vegas, most definitely.

Perhaps try just right before when you installed the MidiVid codec. If it still is acting funny, then I think it'll probably be a good time to nerdrage... :uhoh:

EDIT: I see the post in the new page just now... doesn't look too good indeed.

Milk Or Life! wrote:if fddshow doesn't like your pc that kinda sucks...

anyway i would try for beginning disabling in both audio/video configuration that mjpeg related things with that

also if normal copy paste/install doesn't work with dll i would try .ini way from some another dll install like huffyuv or panasonic dv just change dll name and stuff that contains huffyuv it usually worked for me.

maybe check file also in gspot or media info/something like that it may give things you need : d.

Have you really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

are you still getting the error that says "The application couldn't start, because AVIFIL32.dll could not be found. Re-installation of the appilcation could solve the problem"?

Yes. I get it with the normal Vdub as well.

So I'm assuming that downloading and placing AVIFIL32.dll into system32 didn't work at all?

.. i get the same report on Asymsa20.dll not being found when I'm looking 'right at it!!

I'm thinking that .. maybe System 7 & Vista are not running things via "DLL's" anymore;
that would explain quite a few problems that I've been seeing. Now if only there were a solution.

I'm using XP though. I just re-installed Windows another time and see if it'll work in a bit.

for XP .. get the ffdshow_rev1381_20070729_clsid.exe from http://www.free-codecs.com then load the Mjpeg Codec.

XP is what i'll be rolling my computer back-to within a week or two tooo. mirkosp is right, it should run properly on XP.

Don't suggest horrendously outdated versions of ffdshow. That build is 2½ years old, and the current revisions are over 3300 (such as ffdshow_rev3316_20100312_clsid.exe, which is revision 3316 from March 12th, 2010). And almost the first half of the thread dealt with ffdshow anyway.

my error; didn't notice that ffdshow_rev3316_20100312_clsid.exe was released.

Any clsid should work. .. what are the big changes between the two?

Practically all the advances made in ffmpeg/libavcodec itself over the past 2 and a half years. Faster, more accurate decoding, including the option of using ffmpeg-mt for H.264, the option of using hardware acceleration for H.264 and VC1, etc.
