Can't seem to find a working link for the codec. Anyone willing to help me out?

Just use the MJPEG encoder/decoder in ffdshow. It's in the VFW interface, which you can select as a codec in VirtualDub's compression dialog (ffdshow can actually encode to a lot of different formats through VirtualDub, you'll need to select MJPEG from the drop-down on the 'Encoder' tab when ffdshow's VFW configuration page comes up). If you don't have the VFW interface installed, then make sure to enable it when you reinstall/update ffdshow. The same encoding core is there in ffmpeg, mencoder, AviDemux, and maybe even VLC, if VLC gives you access to libavcodec's options in its transcoder, so any of those could substitute as well.

This is the second time you open a thread for it. :P
I'd suggest ffdshow like qyot, but for the sake of fullfilling the request, here you go.

Yeah...I know. Sorry, I somehow never find the old threads anymore and google doesn't help me either -_-;

fddshow always fucks up on my pc...got me more problems in the past than it helped me.

Anyway...Thank you!

Actually, once you run the exe, I think the dll get automatically copied into system32 or somewhere alike and registered.

Mmmh... no clue about that. I don't even use Vegas so yeah... but as long as the codec shows up in virtualdub, it means it's been properly installed and that it's less about the codec and more about Vegas itself.

I just noticed, that when I try to open Virtual Dub Mod, it gives me the error I had with Vegas (viewtopic.php?f=49&t=98533)

It won't get fixed when I re-install AMVApp and it also gives me that error when I try to install the vdubmod from the vdub website.

Get rid of vdubmod and use the latest plain virtualdub instead. Mod is really outdated and there's a huge bugfix and improvement list from the version mod was based on compared to latest vdub.

That said, I'm keen to say that the issue isn't with this specific codec but probably with something else. I can't figure what that something else might be, though...

its the cobra-codec pack

Cobra-Codec Pack is a collection of codecs not found in common codec packs.
These are the codecs that are rarely used but might be needed.

I recommend this along side K-Lite Codec Pack Full

After you finish Installing, please run "register_codecs.bat"
(Start, All Programs, Cobra-Codec Pack, register_codecs.bat)
*This is kinda a "beta" thing it is only set to register 3 of the .ax codecs*

Codecs Included:

Video Codecs:
-----------------------
Adaptec DVSoft Codec [Version 1.11]
Arithyuv [Version 1.1.1]
Avid AVI Codec [Version 2.0d2]
Alaris VGPixel Codec [Version 3.10.1.1]
Midvid JPEG Codec [Version 1.0]
FrapsVid [Version 2.8.2.6486]
Lagarith Lossless Codec [Version 1.3.11]
LZOcodec [Version 0.4]
TechSmith Screen Capture Codec [Version 2.0.6.0]

Audio Codecs:
-----------------------
BASS Audio Library + BASSMOD Audio Library [Version 2.3.0.2]
MPA Decoder [Version 1.0.0.3]
Sony ATRAC3 Audio Codec [Version 0.98]
Speex Voice ACM Codec [Version 1.0.1.1]
XA Directshow Filter [Version 0.6.1.1]

Version History
-------------
v1.0.0
- First Release

dont know how valid this is considering the author states that its a 'beta thing' and some other bs. but try it i guess :S

I was thinking, have you tried a system restore yet? That might just fix your issue.

if fddshow doesn't like your pc that kinda sucks...

anyway i would try for beginning disabling in both audio/video configuration that mjpeg related things with that

also if normal copy paste/install doesn't work with dll i would try .ini way from some another dll install like huffyuv or panasonic dv just change dll name and stuff that contains huffyuv it usually worked for me.

maybe check file also in gspot or media info/something like that it may give things you need : d.

I wouldn't know where to go as I didn't edit since the last time I re-installed windows on my pc which was a few months ago...and I did that so many times already -.- I have a pretty broken pc and this here is not my only issue though the primary atm because of the DZ tournament.
