Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 - is it worth buying?

I love making AMVs but I wish I could do so much more, with the editing program I have, I can't do masking or any of that neat stuff, so would this be a good program for me to get? I can't afford the Sony Vegas that costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I'd like to be able to do masking and that sort of thing.

Movie studio is pretty much just a watered-down version of Vegas Pro. You can't mask, there's less effects and layers etc. I'd really reccommend the Pro version as it will give you many more options and restrain you less while editing. Online prices are pretty cheap actually- over a year ago I bought 8 for less than a hundred bucks, and now that the newer version is out it should be even cheaper.
