Post by davenfonet » Tue Nov 24, 2009 11:18 pm

Pretty much the same rules as last year, please consulthttp://iconsf.org/amv.php for more details.

Deadline: Monday, March 8, 2010 by 11:59:59 PM
All submissions must be received by this time. Submissions postmarked but not received by this date will not be accepted. Be sure to leave yourself enough time to complete the video AND submit it before the deadline.

Categories and Awards
Each entry will be treated fairly and respectfully. To accomplish this, all entries will be judged in three (3) ways:
Popular vote in Category – as decided by registered members
Drama
Action
Romance
Comedy
Dance/Upbeat/Other

Technical Merit – as decided by the judges Three (3) awards will be given for:
Editing
Effects
Judges’ Choice

Best in Show - as decided by the audience
If your video wins the popular vote in its category and wins either Best in Show, you will only receive the higher of the two awards. You will still be eligible for a technical award regardless of your video winning a category or best in show.

I'm not sure why you haven't gotten any submissions, but there was a thread here not too long ago about an editor who won the I-con AMV contest in a previous year and didn't receive their award. Perhaps this is discouraging entries?

Well, since you are so hard up for submissions, I might just have something that would be appropriate for an amv contest within a science fiction convention that I could enter.
