err..yeah, that'd be kinda stupid if someoen just stopped making amv just cuz of soem forum clown...:?

anyway...there are other smal amv communities who prefer thier underground presence and don't frequent the org...STS and familia for example...still very active but their sites down at the moment.

Some of us simply prefer the con atmosphere. Or else we're out at a strip club getting drunk whilst wearing bunny ears - it all depends.

And there are others who aren't nearly as productive or helpful as we used to be, simply 'cause we're put off by the attitudes of some of the more recent frequenters of the forum.

I've heard this so many times, and I'm still confused, who is buging you, and in what way? I understand that some people want to try to be jerks, but has this really changed so much in the recent past? It's the INTERNET for God's sake!

No one has stopped. Just people's schedule's or lives change. I mean, I recently just finshed an AMV and I haven't edited anything new as of July.

College has been kicking my ass. I was able to finish a short little 2:30min amv during thanksgiving break since it was the only free time I had. :)

Everyone has their friends, the people closest to them in a way. You can trust everything they say, and relate to them, they give good advice, have similar thoughts, can understand you, and help you to solve the most complex situations. We have some BIG time vets that founded this site. It was small enough at one time that everyone that joined was similar, and they shared several of the atributes listed above if not all. It's tough to see something like that go, now any anime junkie can join this site because it's so popular. You expect to be able to carry on incredible conversation with people, and meet all the other people like you accross the nation with each new member, but a lot of the new members are worthless internet junkies.

Some people just want this enviroment, not having to deal with stupid people, being able to relate with everyone. If you grow accustom to this you just get to the point where you can't take any diffrent. A lot of the people that don't come anymore may think diffrently, maybe they just don't want to come back, not that they can't tolerate it. There are probably lots of reasons, but for what ever reason the forum has definetly changed a hundred times over from what it once was, and that's the forum they chated at, not this one.

I understand this feeling, though it doesn't relate to amv sites. Other places where stuff like this goes on, and you'll find those vets do exist, but you won't find them by asking around. If you get into amvs and the life as much as them, you'll find the place, cuz they're the type of place only the hardcore people go to. I feel for punk rock fans, I can't stand teenie boppers and mtv buffs. Bands slip from us everyday, making the concerts not as enjoyable, right now new found glory's lef the building, good charlotte is sinking fast, and more to come. The bands I really really like, I don't tell people when they're playing, just friends and people I know are intrested, trully. If you really belong, you'll get the offer to join what ever community, but they're private and exclussive for a reason.

No one remembers sammy? Or Ramonesfan, those were annoying assholes who were arround wayyy wayyy back.. Yep. Annoying as fuck, but everyone doesn't remember that there were annoying fuckers back then and there are some annoying fuckers now.

:O

If you want to be elite and special you can hang in the stricly AMV forums. There aren't that many assholes in there, and all those people are talking about the same thing.

I don't remember any great bonds that have been broken since the site change. I didn't see great collaborations going on either.

I saw a bunch of the same, just less often.

to be honest I feel that way about the org as it is now :/
the whole town of animemusicvideos.org thing I think showed that several other people also feel that way
not to mention that the forum is really only a select few people, the most ever online was like 48, its not like doom9 where there are like 1000 people on at a time, and even there you see familiar faces 90% of the time.

Klinky

I never said bonds were broken, just that people moved away, went some where else underground to chat.

RadicalEdO

still... A lot of people that'd be great to talk to don't really get out the forums much. I mean just familer faces isn't really the same thing. Members of the "family" you might say, don't come around to much because they don't want to, or feel like. Hell, I've been a member for about a year now, didn't start posting until about a week ago.
