Mac question

Post by GreenT » Sat Dec 05, 2009 3:08 pm

I'm currently editing on a mac, using Final Cut Express. I was just wondering what sort of methods can I use, when I'm actually finished editing my video, to compress and what not? What sort of codec do I use when I export? Do I use Quicktime Pro 7 to do anything with my exported file?

I apologize if this is the wrong section.

Actually this is the right section!

I do, however, address this elsewhere. I suggest you use either MPEGStreamclip or Avidemux. The latter gives you much more control. You want to encode into x264 and place in an MP4 container. Read all the stickies in this forum, and it should give quite a bit of information the standards that have been developed when using OS X.
