Video Converting Programs

Postby valdrianth » Wed Nov 18, 2009 5:49 pm

I'm looking for a decent program that's either free and decently priced in order to convert my .vob and .mkv files to .mpgs and the like.

I had been using a program called Super but it's completely unstable and doesn't go past 30 frames a second, which can be troublesome when converting higher quality videos to something that I can use with Vegas.

Also something that would work well with Bandai DVDs.

Thanks. <3

you can try my amvbatchenc program and use the mpeg for conventions profile (mencoder can read vob and mkvs just fine natively) however if that doesn't give you enough options for setting the quality, just use mencoder directly. (You can copy and paste the cmdline output from the debug tab to a cmd prompt and modify the bitrate etc if the cmdline options for mencoder is daunting to you. in a later version the program will let you edit those in itself.
