I first got into watching anime when my son brought Ninja Scroll home shen he was in college, back in the 90's. That sure wasn't kids cartoons. Next he brought Evangelion, and I was hooked. He also brought home some amv's, and I got hooked on them too.

Hate you? No.
Think you terribly misguided? Maaaaaybe.![]()
I have fond memories of watching Robotech in the 80s, but nostalgia does not make me think Robotech is better than Macross. Not when it comes to strength of story consistency. I hold no ill will towards Robotech, especially having discussed it in detail with Carl Macek in 2003. I respect what he did because of why he was forced to do it. I'm glad I had Robotech to watch in the 80s.Neon Genesis Evangeliontwelfth birthdayhad read about the show on Wikipediafirst episode online
I have to stop reading this thread. When I was twelve Eva didn't exist, and when it did come out, you could barely get it in VHS, let alone online, and wikipedia was years from being developed.
