Hey
I'm trying to resolve a problem I'm having with Premiere Pro CS4 which I recently installed from the CS4 Master Collection.
Description of problem:
I installed Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro all of which seem to work fine except for Premiere. After Effects starts up with no hassle and I can work with video with no noticeable issues.
Now, when it comes to Premiere, it starts up and loads with no issues. When creating a new project, I get the scratch disk settings and here is also where you name the project, lets just say I named mine test. Then I get the sequence setting window as per usual. Now after selecting my preferred settings for the project I click on "OK" then my workspace doesn't load and premiere hangs. I have no choice but to terminate the program
I then tried a different method, I decided to open Premiere by opening the "test.pproj" project file through windows which Premiere has just created. Premiere starts up and loads the project. I then get my workspace which I can't work with as there is no sequence. I then add a new sequence in the workspace manually, select my settings, click "OK" and it creates the sequence. Now I have a sequence file but Premiere hangs and I can't open the sequence in the workspace or do anything else in the program.
I get no error messages or any other indication of what the problem might be.. I also find it strange that After Effects works and Premiere doesn't.
I am running the following system:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz
Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit
2GB DDR400 RAM
Geforce 9800GT 512 DDR3
HDD - Working on a 1TB drive
My system drive is partitioned and XP sits on a 7GB partition of which I only have around 960MB of free space left on it. I know that Adobe CS4 uses some space on the system drive to run. I set my scratch disk settings to use my 1TB drive so as not to save anything on my system drive.
Is it that there is not enough space on my system drive that Premiere won't create the sequence? It's just when it hangs, my disk space on my system drive (C:) remains the same at 960MB and my CPU performance is running normally. I don't get any error messages from Windows of low disk space or anything of the sort.
I tried to google a solution to my problem and found nothing...
I am totally baffled with this and hope that someone can help me out.
Thank You
