Top 10 Summer 2009 Anime, According to 2ch

Taken from Sankaku Complex (not linking it 'cause parts of the site are NSFW):

Sankaku Complex wrote:2ch-ologists have delivered their verdict on which of 2009 summer anime attracted the most attention from 2ch’s otaku community and the sites surrounding it.

The executive digest ranking, based on overall score:

1. Bakemonogatari

2. Saki

3. Taishou Yakyuu Musume

4. Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

5. Sora no Manimani

6. Aoi Hana

7. Wolf and Spice II

8. Haruhi

9. Hayate no Gotoku

10. GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class

The results in full take in the relative performance (in terms of thread activity and polling) of each title on the sprawling complex of anime related boards on 2ch, as well as supplementary factors such as Amazon rank, Mixi connections, blog hits and so on.

The full ranking for masochists with an excellent knowledge of Japanese and 2ch:

Bakemonogatari in 1st place was to be expected honestly. What weirds me out is how Haruhi s2 makes the top 10 despite all the Endless Eight rage - it even tops CANAAN which strangely enough places only 13, followed by FMA Brotherhood in position 14 (I personally couldn't bother with FMAB, but I thought it'd rank much higher).
Your thoughts?

Bakemonogatari's position is indeed a total unsurprise. It was made to please 2ch. In a way not unlike a blowjob. And 2ch is happy with its blowjob :ying:

Otherwise I'll confess that I haven't really watched the others in the top 10.

So tell me what's so good about Bakemonogatari.

Constant high quality throughout the whole series? Well, lack of animators made one of the episodes for the tv streaming pretty much a slide show, but rather enjoyable anyway, and what wasn't animated in time for the broadcast will be animated for the BRD release, so it's fine.
Also, it has SHAFT style all over it, which makes it interesting both artistically and narratively. A good amount of in-jokes/internet references add up to a good cast of characters in a well thought setting. Perhaps what's not to like is the slowness of some of the episodes if you have ADHD, I guess.

Interesting.. I guess. Maybe I'll give the series a shot once the DVD version comes out.

how did basquash and needless not make it on there (needless isn't a masterpiece but has enough humor to get me actually laughing in many parts).

First BRD (and DVD) has already been released.

checking the full jap list, Needless is 19th and Basquash 28th... apparently basquash's doom was the lack of preorders on the BRDs and DVDs pretty much everywhere from what I can tentatively gather looking at the least. But I don't actually know japanese, so meh...

On a side note, Queen's Blade isn't on the list *at all*. What the hell 2ch, what the hell. I thought it got a sheer amout of fans. :nose:
