Problems with Vegas when creating AMV

Postby vemalas » Fri Sep 04, 2009 9:29 am

So i have this problem, creating an amv and exporting it i've noticed that:

I just happen to have black frames all around in 4 directions: up, down, left, right. The thing is video is smaller than it should be, and dark borders surrounding it.

That's probably it.. yeah, that's the problem.

A bit info about video:
Codec: mp4 / wmv
Resolution: 640 x 480
Aspect ratio: 4:3

I export with resolution 640 x 480. I get frames
I export 1024 x 768. I get no frames. Just crappy looks.

I want to export with native resolution without frames, what should i do?

What's the aspect ratio of your source? Your final export and project settings should always match that. If you absolutely have to, you can right- click on the clips, and uncheck "maintain aspect ratio".
By the way, DO NOT make your final exprt from vegas. Vegas has crappy mp4 compression and that's why your 1024 x 768 video looks bad.

Your (Pixel) Aspect Ratio should be set to 1.0 Square Pixels.

Your video may be 4:3, but at 640x480, your pixels aren't.
... yea ...
