Are AMVs art? - Interview with Koop

Post by Castor Troy » Sun Aug 30, 2009 7:14 pm

AMV Paradise did an interview with Koop if AMVs are art. Interesting stuff:

the interviewer was a bit of a moron really, the way he kept saying ''is an artist really an artist because he didn't make his own pencil/paint...?'' ...yea...OK

I consider AMV's to be an art form to a certain degree, like Auriga which he used as an example, is stunning, beautiful, took time to create it...sure you aint using a pencil, your using a cursor instead. I'd just call it Digital Art.

Anime is an artform, Music is to...combining two art forms = art still?

:o that was pretty cool. :>

I disagreed with a whole lot of what koop said concerning art and amvs, but it's still really nice to get our side of the argument out there.

Oh hi, this topic. How are you? It's been a couple of weeks hasn't it? How have you been?

Duchamp's fountain is art. Merda d’Artista is art.
Calling something art has no meaning or merit - it doesn't fucking matter.

I do believe the focus of the topic was that koop did a rather interesting interview, not the actual question at hand. :|

I like that the "Your Gone.." image was on the screen the whole time.

Basically wut Vivaldi said, but unlike the comments bashing the association of amvs and art, just because i dont believe amvs are art doesnt mean that i dont think they're worthwhile and can't enjoy them for other reasons.

and "Your Gone." Oh Koop :awesome:
